Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was the best of examples to follow for humankind, and this is the primary reason why the Sunnah is so important in Islam. With that being said, he is also the best example to follow in regards to Dawah. Dawah is the invitation to Muslims and Non-muslims to understand Allah through the essence of the Holy Quran and the Sunnah of His Messenger of Islam.
ICNA Dallas provides materials such as a Holy Quran, brochures, and flyers for those taking part in Dawah activities. Our chapter also actively participates in dawah activities to clear misconceptions about Islam. One such example is the dawah booths that we set up around the Greater Dallas area. We have seen the positivity that results from a healthy exchange about Islam and Muslims first-hand, including the countless shahadahs that have resulted. We are always accepting volunteers to staff our booths. If you’d like to help us educator others about the deen and tackle common misconceptions, please contact us.
We hold several open houses throughout the year, where we welcome members of various Interfaith communities, colleges, and universities to learn more about Islam. These events are at times held at a local mosque. Our Open Houses allow for a healthy exchange about Islam and Muslims. Visitors have the chance to ask questions and get answers from Muslims themselves.
Billboards Campaigns are another great way that our chapter conducts dawah outreach. These ads are placed near major highways in the city, being seen by millions of commuters. Not only are the billboard ads a great dawah measure, but they also help generate positive messaging about Islam to combat negative messages in the media. Aside from highlighting the character of our Prophet (peace be upon him), the billboards also encourage viewers to get a free copy of the Quran, also a great way to start a conversation.
Along with running dawah programs and initiatives, we also provide Dawah training. This includes dawah material and workshops on how to effectively conduct dawah. Dawah training is essential, as we can learn from the Sunnah of our Prophet (peace be upon him) on the best forms of dawah and how one should go about the conversation in today’s world.
ICNA Dallas has been actively participating in providing relief work in the DFW metroplex from past 7 years. Of the whole gamut of work, prime operational work involves providing rental / utility assistance to the mass refugee influx occurring in and around DFW metroplex. Why Islam
Why Islam is an online resource that ICNA national launched in 1999 to provide an unbiased view of Islam. Why Islam aims to provide accurate information about Islam for those seeking answers, in hopes to dispel popular stereotypes and misconceptions. This is partly done through dawah materials such as brochures and pamphlets.
Gain Peace
Similar to our initiative Why Islam, GainPeace is a non-profit organization which also works to educate the general public about Islam and its believers. The goal is to clarify misconceptions and help shift the narrative about Muslims into a more positive one.
